LS

Someone called me LS (Less sophisticated) coz I asked MIC to get me Chivada and bhakarvadi from Pune.
In fact this person who claims to have gone to school in Pune and who has been living in Pune (that i know of) for the past one year doesnt know what a bhakarvadi is...

Whats pune without its bhakarvadi and chivada
Whats mumbai without its vada pav, cannon pav bhaji, vital bhelwala.. (list endless)
Whats bangalore (dont think i will miss any of the bangalore goodies)

Every place I miss - I miss the food that comes from that place. Well I do miss conti/western stuff too - whats mumbai without Gaylord and Newyoker.... but the vada pav is what I will look for the moment i land in mumbai after two weeks....
S u must come to mumbai - will show you how to enjoy LS stuff....

When chat can be in fashion - what is LS about the things that made the place famous...

I do know what a bhakarvadi is you moron!! It's just that the city has changed so much with all its new malls and stuff that you really have to hunt for the old stuff like bhakarvadi and chivada!!! I think you also need to wake up and smell the change.

Also...I'm not a food freak at all. Though I have lived in so many places in the country, I don't relate to each place with it's food of all the things! That could be also be why I don't relate to your connection to food from each place. For ME Pune means students, universities, good weather...not chivada! Mumbai means socialites, movies stars, marine drive...not vada pav! And Bangalore means IT, pubs, traffic...not idli, dosa!

i am willing to accept ur take that pune has changed... after all my first and last trip to Pune was six years ago.

I think every place has some food unique to itself and Bangalore has plenty- just that you are ultra biased and wont try anything :D

MTR MTR and more MTR. I know of some other places that my father mentioned was in Basavanagudi........I will find out from him and let you know. And they are all veggie places because all the places I will mention are before my father corrupted himself and became a meat eater (thus ensuring that future generations would now look to meat as a source of protein). As for specialities well good old bisi bele baath well made can be so good- steaming hot and well spiced. Raw Mango rice. Maddur vada. The trick is to find a good place. I have heard MTR is good for these things (yes I have never been :( )
I am so glad you didnt get offended. I was half expecting one mail asking me to go take a hike or something :-)
